Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies ConvertKit uses and why. The short version: the site works without any optional cookies, and analytics/advertising cookies only run if you consent to them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. Similar technologies include localStorage, which keeps a value on your device without sending it to a server with every request. We use both categories below.

Strictly necessary (always on)

These keep the site functioning and remember choices you make:

  • Theme preference — we store your light/dark choice in your browser’s localStorage. It never leaves your device and is not a tracking identifier.
  • Consent choice — Google Funding Choices (our consent banner) records whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so we do not ask you every visit.

Analytics (consent required)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate page views (which pages are popular, where visitors come from). Google Analytics uses cookies or similar storage. Storage starts denied through Google Consent Mode and is only enabled if you accept in the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time via the .

Advertising (consent required)

We display ads through Google AdSense, which may set cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to select and measure ads. These cookies are only allowed after you consent. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org. Ads keep the tools free; we never sell data about you.

No other trackers

ConvertKit has no session-replay tools, no keystroke recording, no social media pixels, and no advertising networks other than Google. Your converted files are processed in your browser and are never attached to any cookie or identifier.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking all cookies still lets ConvertKit’s tools work — only the consent banner memory and theme preference rely on local storage, and the tools themselves process files without any storage at all.

Changes to this policy

If we add new cookies or trackers, we will update this page and its date. For the full picture of what we collect, see our Privacy Policy.
